Rob Morton
Service, Disney Style

Tuesday 26 May
11.45am – 12.50pm

The story of the Disney Institute, the business behind the magic, has its beginning with Walt Disney himself. Walt's contagious vision and genuine care for his employees created a legacy of loyalty within his growing company. His willingness to take risks and blaze new trails, coupled with an innate understanding of what his customers wanted, resulted in the legendary business practices for which Disney destinations are famous.

Even before Tom Peters and Bob Waterman profiled the Walt Disney World Resort in their groundbreaking book In Search of Excellence, the most beloved entertainment company in the world enjoyed a reputation as an organisation that set the benchmark for best business practices.

Rob Morton knows all about the methods behind Disney’s success. He joined the Walt Disney World Cast in 1979 and has held a variety of leadership positions in many different areas of Disney. He has specific management experience in recruiting, managing teams, finance and training. A second generation Floridian, Rob began his Walt Disney World career in high school as a Jungle Cruise skipper and proved to be the “right fit” for the special brand of humour that was required.

Rob’s session will highlight the vision and ideals of Walt Disney, and allow you to experience the business behind the magic. Not just heady philosophy but the real how-to's of Disney’s core strengths: leadership, loyalty, management, service and creativity.
